Steiner stream - Winter Festival - 8th July 22

The Winter Festival is a celebration of the chill and frosty darkness of the winter season.
We look to it also as a festival of inwardness, as the outer light and warmth of the sun is at its lowest with the passing of the Winter Solstice, the shortest day and the longest night.
With the outer light of nature ebbing our intention at this festival is to celebrate the waking and flourishing of inner light, inner soul capacities of consciousness, self-recognition and of the brightening spark that radiates in the heart of each individual.
The overall mood for the evening of the Winter Festival is quiet, inward and reverent.
The words of our songs guide us to feel and perceive these special qualities.
They bring to focus the beauty of the light of each individual symbolised by each child’s lantern with its delicate inner flame.
